After a successful reboot back in 2011, the Planet of the Apes franchise was reborn again.  Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the next visual masterpiece which takes the story to a new level of the revolution.

As the story left off, Caesar (Andy Serkis), a chimpanzee who gained human-like intelligence and emotions from an experimental drug.  Seeking justice for his fellow inmates, Caesar gives the fellow apes the same drug that he inherited and marches an army across the Golden Gate Bridge.  After the rumble in the jungle the Apes disappear in to the Red Wood Forest to live in peace.

Almost a decade later, the generations of Apes have taken over the planet and the experimental drug back fired and killed off 95% of the human population.  Caesar still resides in the Red Wood Forest where he is the leader of a growing nation of genetically evolved apes.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APESThreatened by a band of human survivors looking for a alternative power source in an abandon dam, the Apes push the humans back never to return again.  Malcolm, played by Jason Clarke, takes a chance and returns to the forest pleading for passage in hopes to restore power to one of the last surviving cities. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Gary Oldman and Keri Russell join the human cast, as Doc Shaw, Tobey Kebbell, Nick Thurston and Karin Konoval add to the Ape cast.
