Now that The Real Housewives of Atlanta is on off season, Peter Thomas and his wife Cynthia Bailey can focus on Peter’s tapas lounge, Bar One.  After a few mentions on Bravo’s reality show as well as hosting a few exclusive events the popularity of the lounge has been growing; but just being on a national television show and having some notoriety in the Entertainment industry isn’t what is making Bar One it’s name and fame.  With it’s owner Peter Thomas being Jamaican, you can bet on the cuisine being some of the Best Caribbean Food in Atlanta.  We spoke with Peter about his Tapas Lounge and the ingredients of it’s success and one of the main ingredients, Executive Chef Natasha Wong.

In honor of Atlanta’s Key Influencer’s, Chef Wong prepared a five course dinner for a more intimate tasting and insight at what the menu offers.  The first course consisted of either Oxtail Soup or a House Salad with Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette. I must say the Oxtail soup was amazing and is known as “Peter’s Favorite” states Chef Wong.  The second course was Fish Cakes topped with a special Mango Salsa.  The third course was a Bar One favorite, the Jerk Chicken Quesadillas with Avocado Sauce.  The fourth course was the Coconut Curry Crab & Shrimp with Dumplings or Turkey Sliders with Provolone cheese. And to top it all off with Bread Pudding served with Vanilla Ice Cream topped with a Butter Rum Sauce.  The night’s cocktails were provided by Cherry Noir Grey Goose. These five courses get five stars from us.
